SKIPS now offers dryer vent cleaning!!!
We service most makes and models of dryers, but we do not sell them. Dryers, for the most part, are a very simple appliance. Of course like most things, when you add electronics to them they get a bit trickier, but we really don’t need to go into that too much.
The basic idea of a dryer is to circulate warm air through your wet clothes to make them dry and wrinkle free. When that stops happening that is usually when our phone rings. There are a few things you may be able to do to save yourself a service call.
One of the most common problems we get is that a dryer takes too long to dry. If this is your problem, the first thing you need to do is to determine if the dryer is getting hot at all. If your dryer is not getting hot, then you should call us. If your dryer is getting hot, but takes longer than normal to dry, you have an air flow problem, not a bad heating element. A heating element either gets hot or it does not. What determines how hot it gets is the thermostats. The thermostats sense the air temperature, and if you are not getting good air circulation, the thermostats will get a false reading. So what can you do about that?
First and foremost, always make sure your lint screen is clean. You should clean your lint screen after every load of laundry. The next thing you need to look at is your dryer exhaust hose. You want to be sure there are no kinks and that the outside exhaust vent is clear. Unfortunately, in a lot of newer homes, the dryer is vented out through the roof. In that case, you should call a vent cleaning or chimney cleaning professional. However, if it does vent through an exterior wall, make sure there is nothing blocking your air vent and that no excess lint has built up in the opening. If the dryer vent is clear and flowing properly, you should be able to feel a somewhat strong and warm air flow coming from your vent. If you do all of that and it still is taking too long to dry, Call Us At (941) 351-7998 and we will be happy to come out and fix what ever problem you may be having.
Some other common problems are noisy dryers, marks getting on your clothes, the timer is not advancing properly, and of course, no heat at all. For these problems or any other problem, you should probably give us a call at (941) 351-7998 and let us come and take a look. In most cases, we can have your dryer fixed in one visit.
